The wigs
How can your wigs cost so much less than other luxury wigs?
We use the same caliber of hair and the same hand finishing. The difference is the markup. We price our wigs at what we believe they should cost, because no one should profit from a woman's faith or her illness.
What hair do you use?
Premium virgin human hair, including virgin Russian hair. Virgin hair has never been chemically processed, so the cuticle stays intact and the hair stays soft, shiny and tangle-resistant for years.
Are your wigs suitable as a sheitel?
Yes. Many of our clients wear their Rachel Kreit wig every day to cover their hair, and we design with that in mind: comfort for long wear, a secure fit and a natural part.
What colors do you offer?
Our virgin hair comes in natural shades 2, 4, 6 and 8, from darkest brown to light brown. Blondes and dimensional color (highlights, balayage, rooted looks) are custom colored for you. See the shades.
How long will my wig last?
With proper care, a virgin human hair wig can last for years. Our atelier can renew the lace, restyle or refresh the color whenever it needs it.
Ordering, shipping & returns
How much does a wig cost?
Our wigs range from $1,600 to $3,500, depending on length, texture and size. That price is all-inclusive: your custom cut, color, personalized hairline and baby hairs are part of it, and shipping is complimentary. You will receive a clear quote before anything is made.
How do I order and pay?
Send a request through our Reserve page or message us on Instagram. Rachel will reply personally. A custom order begins with a 50% non-refundable deposit, and the remaining 50% is due when your wig is complete.
Payment terms and methods are flexible and can be arranged around your circumstances and the piece you choose. We do not take card payments on the website.
How long does a custom wig take?
A completely custom wig usually takes 30 to 45 days. If you have a date in mind, a wedding or the start of treatment, tell us and we will plan around it.
Do you ship? Do I have to be in Los Angeles?
Shipping is included on every order, to anywhere in the world. We meet in person in Los Angeles, and work with clients everywhere else by video.
If you would like to send your wig back to us for adjustments, the shipping for that return trip is not included.
What is your return policy?
Custom wigs are made only for you, so they cannot be returned. Non-custom, ready-to-wear wigs may be returned within 5 days of delivery, as long as the wig is untouched: no heat styling, coloring, cutting or other alterations.
Wig care
How often should I wash my wig?
Far less often than you might think. Unlike your own hair, a wig is not affected by the natural oils from your scalp, so it only needs a wash every couple of months, or sooner if you use a lot of product.
When you do wash it, use a sulfate-free shampoo and a rich conditioner, and always detangle gently from the ends up. Our atelier also offers a professional wash and set.
Can I use heat tools?
Yes, it is human hair. Use a heat protectant and keep tools at a moderate temperature to keep the hair healthy for longer.
How should I store it?
On a wig stand or block, away from direct sun and heat, with the hair loosely brushed. For travel, a silk bag keeps it smooth.
When does my wig need new lace?
When the hairline starts to look less crisp or the lace has worn. A new lace front or lace fall can make an older wig look brand new. See our atelier services.
